Rebooting Windows Vista
Posted on: September 11th, 2008 by Simon MitchellOk, so my last article about Vista was a little heavy handed. Or, to coin a phrase, so i thought.
The good people at Toshiba have told me to reinstall Windows Vista on my laptop. This apparently will save me money as this is what they will do to test my machine.
Do you remember the number one feature of windows XP? In case you forgot it was the reduction of the need to reboot your machine every 5 minutes. Vista has forgotten all about that and so far today i have rebooted about 15 times.
The reinstallation took about 15 minutes but the rest has taken all day. I mean 8 hours and i have fibre optic to my door!
There is so much crap pre installed this is a joke. For example there was a program allowing me to SMS from my laptop. I signed up and installed the application but soon removed it after finding out each SMS was going to cost 19c. Skype is alot less than this.
I also had to emove the wonderful offer from Norton which took another 15 minutes.
This has been such a fantastic waste of my time that i’m considering sending Toshiba and Microsoft an invoice for my wasted time;)
If you have similar problems then i’d love to hear from you. This article is open ![]()
